ABOUT THE DIRECTORY

THE WHY

The Directory is an online resource that profiles the organisations and solutions serving digital planning in Australia. Providers are organised by capability so users can move quickly from a need to a shortlist of credible solution options.

The Directory is structured around clear capabilities, and is being built out in phases to ensure a comprehensive resource is offered.

It is being administered by NEON.URBAN Managing Director, Adam Beck, as a private-sector advocacy initiative, inspired by the Digital Task Force for Planning in the United Kingdom and its Digital Planning Directory, and built for the Australian marketplace.

The Directory does one thing no procurement portal or government register does. It puts the vendor in front of the camera. The centrepiece of every listing is a recorded video presentation and a structured interview, conducted by Adam Beck, that lets each provider explain what they do, show how it works, and answer the questions a customer would ask.

This turns a static list and marketing material into a living library of credible, comparable and watchable solution profiles. It is discovery for buyers, and a platform for the market.

ABOUT THE DIRECTORY ADMINISTRATOR

As Directory Administrator, Adam Beck brings more than 25 years at the intersection of planning, infrastructure development and digital enablement to a simple ambition: a thriving, trustworthy marketplace for digital planning.

His passion is helping this market grow in the right way, so that public money is invested wisely in products that genuinely build capability and capacity across a profession stretched thin on resources and under constant pressure to deliver swift outcomes on the issues that matter most, from housing supply to climate resilience to mobility.

For Adam, the work is personal. He cares deeply about keeping the Directory independent and its assessments rigorous, so that quality rises to the top and no one can buy their way onto the list. And he believe the best outcomes come from collaboration, between vendors, councils, and the profession, and from smarter procurement that gives planning teams the confidence to adopt the right tools for their challenge and their digital maturity.
